“I have a worn yellow file folder marked “Angel-Sponsored Child” that I keep in the top drawer of my cabinet, right behind 12 years of my own kids’ report cards. The file contains photos of Angel through the years—sometimes holding small gifts we had sent as well as progress reports and letters that often earnestly began with, “I greet you with much love.”
We sponsored Angel for 10 years. Then World Vision sent us a letter to say that Angel and his family had moved out of the area development program (ADP) in which they lived and World Vision Canada worked. Angel was gone….”
