“The first time I saw Shawna Howson on YouTube I realized I was witnessing a new frontier in social activism. Howson is an avid Facebook user who also blogs and tweets on issues she cares about. She traveled to Zambia last August with World Vision Canada and posted short but powerful videos on the work she witnessed. A quick scan of comments on her YouTube channel show that she ignited discussion and more people sponsored children as a direct result of her video blogs (known as vlogs in the tech world).
